The Pursuit of Perfection
In the 1960’s, watchmakers competed to build the best watches possible. Perfection was the goal, and Grand Seiko was thriving. In order to push the limits further, King Seiko was founded as a fully independent division within Seiko, as a direct competitor to Grand Seiko. King Seiko and Grand Seiko were designed and built in completely separate facilities with no access to each other’s designs, parts, or movements. This competition fueled an intense rivalry, fostering great innovations in precision, accuracy, and quality. Today, the King Seiko watches of the 1960’s have become highly coveted and collectible among quality-minded enthusiasts across the globe. In commemoration of the 140th Anniversary of Seiko, King Seiko has returned for a limited run of 3,000 watches, recreating one of their most popular designs in the 1965 KSK. The caseback bears the same gilded insignia of the original watches, along with the limited edition number unique to each piece. The Zaratsu polishing of the case pays homage to the original watch’s bold, razor sharp lines, and the dial recreates the refined elegance and legibility that endeared collectors to these watches even to this day. The  King Seiko SJE083 “KSK” comes in its own presentation box, and is available now at Little Treasury Jewelers for a limited time.
